SO — 2018 is here already and we have not event started to tell everyone one about our 2017.

As it’s pressing, I thought it best to get this up. We have our first internal project fully up and running from the end of last year. Taking it past the initial concept, testing the concept and retesting before pitching it in as a Creative Fuse project. Working with Environmental scientist Paul White, a partner on the project — we not only pitched, but won a grant to tae the idea forward. WHICH WAS GREAT!

Project: Green Places is the project and we will be sharing a lot more on what it’s all about and how you can get involved very soon.

We also have been working with Newcastle College and last year we took on two placements in Andrew and Kori, who were given our internal project as a week sprint. Both students impressed with their attitude and the way they set about tackling the problems the brief throws up.

Both Kori and Andrew have written short articles about their week with us, and Andrew’s full article can be found in the link below:

This is the second work placement I have done this year, and I have to say it’s been the most rewarding. The brief set was very involved, and was certainly a challenge. I’ve taken a lot of feedback on board, but equally I feel that I’ve been able to step up to the level required of me. The Design process I followed put me in good stead, and I also think I’ve been able to add more strings to my bow — thanks to the feedback and knowledge of the guys at Layers.

We’ll share Kori’s article next week, along with some more info on the project. Finally, the launch event for Creative fuse was this week, thanks to everyone for discussing their projects with us, its all very inspiring and we can’t wait to see where Green Places and the rest of the cohorts ideas go.
