As an entrepreneur, one of your most important decisions is choosing the right name for your business. This may seem like a simple task, but naming should not take it lightly.

Your business name will be one of the first things potential customers and partners see, so it is essential to choose a memorable and professional character.

Here are a few tips to help you choose the perfect name for your business:

  • First, make sure the name is unique and memorable.
  • Second, ensure the title is relevant to your company and its products or services.
  • And finally, make sure the name is easy to pronounce and spell.

When people use your brand name as a verb, that is remarkable. Meg Whitman

While some brands become verbs, others do not. For example, Apple is the most valuable brand in the world, but we don’t use “Apple” as a verb. The same is true with Tesla, Microsoft, and Nike.

These companies’ products are found worldwide, but we don’t use their brand names as verbs. So, what sets the category-defining brands that become verbs apart from those that don’t?

For example, “You don’t just search the internet. You google it.” Google is a successful household name, but we don’t use its brand name as a verb in the way we do with other brands. Why is this? Google was designed to find information online and does the job better than any other service. As Google became ubiquitous in the early 2000s, the brand started to seep into pop culture.

There’s something unparalleled and particular about brands that become verbs, and it’s in their purpose. Therefore, brands anchored in the pursuit are the most probable brand names to become verbs.

There are countless examples of brand names that have become verbs: FedEx, Hoover, TiVo, Velcro, and Aspirin, Uber, Xerox, to name a few. All these brands are bound by a specific goal. They are purpose-based brands designed to fulfil a job, so customers talk about them.

The number of users matters when converting brand names into verbs.

It would help if you had a lot of people commonly using the product or service to have it enter pop culture. This means brands must achieve a critical mass of users before there’s an opportunity to become a verb.

In conclusion, there are many reasons why you should choose a catchy name for your business. A catchy brand will make your business stand out from the competition and help you attract more customers. A good title is also easy to remember, so choose one that is both memorable and unique. And last but not least, an exciting name will make your business look more professional. So what are you waiting for? Start brainstorming
