Lazy Lions Merch

Our first Lazy Lions merchandise store is opening on Sunday! It is a limited run of 4 pieces, including Lazy Hoodies, Lazy T-Shirts, Lazy Beanies, and of course, Lazy Hats.

I’m sure you can all guess what the selected trait is for free merch… Lazy Hats!

The official link to purchase Lazy Lions merchandise will be dropping on Sunday night (PT).

Those eligible to claim their free Lazy Hats will be able to claim early next week via a coupon that they’ll receive via the dApp on our website.

Keep in mind this is only the first run of merchandise and is a limited run of pieces. More merch is to come, including a partnership that we can’t wait to announce!

We are looking forward to seeing the Lazy Lions community rocking some official Lazy merch!

Born free Charity donation

With less than 20,000 lions remaining in the wild, we knew this was a serious problem and that Lazy Lions had to do its part in helping. What we weren’t ready for were the heartbreaking stories that some of these lions live.

Globally, thousands of wild animals are used in circuses to perform demeaning and unnatural tricks to entertain the public. Born in captivity, these lions never experience what a true lazy life is all about.

When we spoke with Born Free Foundation, we knew instantly we were dealing with people who loved these animals and truly believed in what they were doing.

We’re happy to announce that we are making a personal donation on behalf of Lazy Lions to the Born Free Foundation to sponsor the rehabilitation of two lions from a cruel and inhumane circus environment.

The Born Free Foundation considers this practice unethical and incompatible with the natural needs of wild animals, and for many years, has campaigned for this practice to be banned across the world. Angela, Bellone, Louga, and Saida are four lions who have suffered this sad fate. They were born in captivity and spent most of their lives performing in a traveling circus in France before their owner surrendered them in May 2018. Since then, they have been temporarily living in a wildlife rescue center in Lyon, France, awaiting relocation to a suitable home. Born Free has been working to secure the necessary permits to relocate the lions to the Born Free big cat sanctuary at the Shamwari Private Game Reserve, South Africa, where these four lions will live the rest of their lives in a spacious sanctuary. 🏝

Unfortunately, the pandemic prevented their relocation to South Africa, but with flights opening up now, we are optimistic that they can be relocated to their new homes by early 2022. We will be sponsoring 2 of these lions for one year, and we will be receiving regular updates on their travel from France to South Africa and the care provided by the Born Free’s animal care team.

Visiting the lions may also become an option in the future, as more details, such as the identities of the lions, will be released over the coming weeks.

Let’s get these lions to a place they can be truly Lazy.

International Discord Channels

After another successful Lazy Lions Collectible drop, we are proud to announce that the Pride has gained even more international attention! If you have been active on our Discord server, you might have noticed many users joining from Brazil and Russia. As you know, we are a welcoming community to all, and we love to chat with these users in the #general channel to the best of our ability.

However, we also recognize that creating a space for these different languages to speak natively freely helps them feel more connected to each other, so we have started our first two international channels in Discord! Currently, we have Russian and Portuguese chats, but we are looking to expand as the reach of the Lazy Lions project continues to increase. We encourage all Lions to pop into these channels often and Oi and Привет to our new international friends.
