Earlier this summer, we published a blog post about the extended timeline for Social Equity rulemaking. This decision was made so our team could thoroughly review all feedback the LCB received regarding the proposed Social Equity rules.

Updated Timeline

We are excited to provide an updated adjusted timeline for the finalization of the Social Equity rules below! Here are some key dates:

  • July 9
The updated draft rules and rubric were presented at the Board caucus. View a recording of the meeting here.
  • July 11
A survey regarding these updates will be distributed to the public.
  • July 18
The survey closes, and feedback will be reviewed. Any additional changes to the draft based on received feedback will be incorporated into the CR 102.
  • July 31
LCB will file a CR 102, which is to notify the public of the proposed Social Equity rules.
  • September 11
A public hearing will be held during the regularly scheduled Board meeting. This is an additional opportunity to provide comments and feedback on the CR 102.
  • September 25
LCB staff will request Board approval to file a CR 103, which is the final draft of proposed rule changes and is the last step for final rule adoption. Rules become effective 30 days after the CR 103 is filed.
  • October 26
The Social Equity Rules will be effective.

You can learn more about the rulemaking process on our website and in our blog post from earlier this year.

How to Get Involved

  • Attend Board meetings.
The LCB posts all the Board meetings and dates on our website here. We will continue to post about important meetings here on the blog and on the Social Equity website.
  • Participate in the survey.
If you would like to participate in the survey scheduled for July 11, we will send out a notification through our GovDelivery cannabis and Social Equity lists. You can sign up for these updates here. We value the feedback from our community, and we would love to hear your input!

Thank you!

The Social Equity team wants to thank everyone who has participated in the rulemaking process. We appreciate all the input we have received, and we value your feedback.
