The LCX Blockchain Sessions are held in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. The mission of the LCX Blockchain Sessions is to engage our network of international partners and advisors in an open dialogue with traditional financial institutions and thought leaders. It is an open forum designed to unpack the complexities of blockchain technology, crypto assets and its impact on the future of finance.

The inaugural LCX Blockchain Sessions was held on 17 August 2018. We have been progressing quickly these past few weeks to make the LCX and Binance-LCX vision a reality. We think it is important to take a step back and reflect on critical moments when relationships are brought into the ecosystem, which is why we want to look back at the debut of Binance-LCX, and our special LCX Blockchain Sessions alongside the announcement.

The event consisted of a panel discussion with Changpeng Zhao (CEO of Binance) and Monty Metzger (CEO of LCX), moderated by Michael Arrington (Founder of TechCrunch and Partner at Arrington XRP Fund).

Held in Vaduz, in the capital of Liechtenstein, attendees were decision makers from banks and investment funds, as well as entrepreneurs from Blockchain companies, who came to discuss the future of the Blockchain industry from the leaders who drive the industry. The ticket sale was open for only 24 hours; nevertheless, the event venue was filled with a crowd of enthusiasts.

During the LCX Blockchain Session, Monty Metzger, Changpeng Zhao and Michael Arrington discussed how the partnership started, the importance of a fiat-to-crypto gateway for professional and private investors alike, and why Liechtenstein will become a major hub for the crypto industry. If you weren’t able to join us in Vaduz, you may check the complete video of the event. Also there is a highlight video available which gives you a good impression of what it’s like at LCX Blockchain Sessions.

CZ praised Liechtenstein for its forward thinking approach. Less than a week after this panel session, on 28 August 2018, the government would once again showcase its commitment to the innovative industry by publishing the consultation report on the Blockchain Laws. The Blockchain Act is a comprehensive regulatory framework for the tokenized economy, and will enter legal force in early 2019.

A day before the Session, LCX hosted a special press event with the Prime Minister of Liechtenstein, Adrian Hasler. The press event saw the official announcement and signing ceremony of the joint venture, Binance-LCX. We have a great respect for the Prime Minister’s approach towards the industry, and we would like to highlight what we consider one of his most exciting quotes regarding the upcoming Blockchain Act:

“The Government considers the potential of blockchain technology to be very high. It expects that in future, a large number of rights — and thus also a high volume of assets — will be represented on blockchain systems as part of the token economy, forming a basis for further services. This enhances the importance of legal certainty in dealing with these digital representations of assets and the use of services.”

After the public event, LCX organized an intimate off-site with the inner-circle of the management of Binance and LCX. Part of this inner-circle meeting was a hike to the top of the mountains of Liechtenstein. During this hike to the top of the mountain, overlooking Liechtenstein, they shared key leadership lessons from their personal experience on how to build and grow a sustainable and profitable company.
