Funded Projects

Housing Repairs Online

The team has finished the first round of user research. As a result, the prototype of the housing repairs system has been iterated, showing that their product is being developed around the needs of the user.

You can watch their latest Show and Share and read their sprint 4 blog post which covers the progress they’ve made in more detail.

Children’s Social Care Demand

More than 140 people from local authorities have downloaded the placement modelling tool since it launched a month ago! The tool helps local authorities to examine placement data for children in care.

Data to Insight’s CLA Placement Demand tool has been downloaded 143 times by 109 users in just one month.

Data to Insight have been holding demos with users so they can demonstrate the tool to analysts and commissioners in local authorities and gain feedback.

Get in touch with the team if you think this tool can help you.

Digital Inclusion Toolkit

The team have been working on a new layout for the Digital Inclusion Toolkit website with a developer and content designer, following user research findings. The developer and content designer have produced a live prototype of the new website which the team is currently reviewing.

Recently, they published a series of tweets for ‘Get Online Week’, which is the UK’s biggest digital inclusion campaign. Digital Inclusion Toolkit highlighted their own resources and findings to celebrate #GetOnlineWeek.

Digital Inclusion Toolkit created a twitter campaign for #GetOnlineWeek — the UK’s biggest digital inclusion campaign.

Quality Data for Children in Care

This sprint, the Data to Insight team held front end user testing sessions with local authorities. These sessions enable the team to find out what changes need to be made to improve the tool.

Over 115 rules have now been coded — great work! All people who volunteered to code some rules attended the second coding session and continue to help the team.

SAVVI

The team presented a Show and Tell on 4 November for the end of phase 2. They covered SAVVI pilots and products, wider engagement work and their ambitions for phase 3.

Speakers included Georgina Maratheftis, Programme Head (Local Public Services) at techUK and Toby Hayward-Butcher, Head of Data Strategy at Ministry of Justice.

SAVVI are speaking at iNetwork’s 16 Annual Conference on Thursday 18 November. Their theme — ‘Driving with Data: people, place and prosperity’ — explores how data can and has been used to drive place-based improvements.

This event is open to all of the public sector and is CPD certified. If you can’t be part of the live event, you can access the event for 30 days on demand.
