Our Rentree

THe top of the Eiffel Tower, symbol of a city, and of returning home

And then, just before we reach
the summit of our low climb,
the sweeping searchlight of
the Eiffel Tower signals our
return in the bright night sky.

We’re home.
Holiday’s over.

Back to work.

I wrote this poem many years ago, returning home to Paris after a holiday trip, and republished it here to accompany the City Symbols story.
