Le voyage de la vie

So the path has been chosen and while we were expecting our lives to take a decidedly drastric turn, the force of which we have been pulled head first down this new journey was hardly expected.

The reality of buying a "character" French property became very real very quickly as we found ourselves ankle deep in literal shit thanks to the shit literally hitting the fan. And walls, and door and yours truly. As soon as one plumbing disaster was alleviated, the next one was waiting for us as all the water from the washing machine, washing the clothes worn during aformentioned shit explotion, you guessed it, exploded once again. Jack has become intimately familiar with our French plumbing situation complete with a wooden plug in a hole in a pipe and a bit of wire holding up some other pipes, but hey, now we seem to be able to continue as normal!

So while day 1 and day 2 were quite terrible all was quickly forgiven as we picked sweet cherries from our very own cherry tree and Aurelia mastered the art (finally!) of not swallowing the pips.

The setting of this home is all our hearts have ever dreamed of. The trees, the river, the bird song. The baguettes and Bordeaux red. The children playing contented all day absorbed in their wild imaginations.

One day it will be absolutely amazing but for now, it is absolutely amazing.

And we just have to remember that when the French bureaucracy and language make things seem almost impossible!
