Did Aurelia know that her choice of her final year of study would have such a great impact on her vision of her future? Honestly, she had no idea.

Here is the story of her journey learning to code via her MSc Data Analytics & Digital Business at l’EDHEC.

The training

— Why did you choose MSc DAta Analytics & Digital Business?
I did my second internship at Bpifrance Le Hub, whose mission is to bring together Corporates and startups from the French ecosystem. During this experience I had the opportunity to discover the new solutions developed in France and abroad, including companies specialized in analytics, voice recognition or image recognition. I chose to continue my last year at EDHEC in MSc Data Analytics and Digital Business to better understand the issues and products developed by the startups. I wanted to discover the technical aspects of their products and understand the mathematical concepts on which these solutions were based.

— Why did you want to join the Wagon’s bootcamp?
When we were offered the opportunity to train at Le Wagon Lille as part of the master’s program, I didn’t hesitate for a second. I signed up because I saw Le Wagon as a career booster for business school profiles that will work more and more in technological environments. For me, it’s a training that allows you to differentiate yourself from a more traditional profile when you are looking for Product Manager or Data Analyst positions.

Learning to code was one of my personal goals, and starting with Le Wagon bootcamp was the best possible opportunity.

— How did you experience these weeks of bootcamp?
The weeks of bootcamp were intense. The classes are highly stimulating and require a lot of concentration — especially during the first few days when you discover this world. In addition to being a high quality bootcamp to learn how to prototype your projects, Le Wagon is a real human adventure where you learn to code in a team on a concrete project!

The bootcamp allowed me to understand the mechanisms behind the functioning of web applications.

Today, I have all the tools in hand to be able to develop my project myself or work hand in hand with a technical team and understand their mindset.
Finally, Le Wagon is also a very dynamic network on which we can rely to help us progress professionally or technically!

After Le Wagon Lille

— How did you feel after Wagon and the rest of the MSc?
After Le Wagon, I decided to put into practice everything I had learned during the bootcamp to launch my bra fitting solution. Starting to develop this solution was a great experience and it allowed me to develop a functional web application and gain even more skills after the training, meet consumers, partner lingerie brands…
The MSc courses ensured the continuity of what we had learned in the Wagon with Python or R courses. During this period we made programming more focused on “data analysis” than we did at the bootcamp.

The Wagon allowed me to have a basic knowledge of code and to understand its logic in order to be able to learn new languages more quickly.

The two training courses are very complementary, one allows you to understand the challenges of web development and product management, and the other to discover business applications as well as the world of data analysis. All that remains is to compile the two to have a global vision.

— What are you doing today?
Today I work as a Product Data Analyst at Malt . Malt allows freelancers to work directly with the largest groups, on projects they love, at the remuneration they deserve, in a transparent and humane way.
As the first Data Analyst, my job is to perform analysis and data mining to help Product Managers make data-driven product decisions.
