Modern day hazards for those who love to communicate.

Curbside…rush hour,
one high heel,
a cell phone, plus an
ice cream cone lie in a
steamy, metropolitan
Neapolitan puddle.

She was simply
trying to juggle,
her ice cream while
texting on her cell phone
and balancing her purse strap,
as she stepped off the curb
to cross the avenue.

She never saw the truck
that knocked her out
of her calling zone,
straight into
calling hours at
a local funeral home.

Her initial reaction
when she was greeted by her angel,
was that she’d been disconnected,
but then she saw his wings,
and realized her first biblical
text message had come through.
