Is your organisation GREAT?

--

I was recently asked what kind of organisations I believe will contribute to creating a better world.

My response outlined some key themes of ‘systemic ecological organisations’, which could be presented as GREAT.

Generous – profitable for ongoing nurturing of self (as an org) and others, resisting urge to overly extract from others in system

Real – creating real value rather than temporary, transient, trendy and tenuous margins. Focused on impact with high degree of systemic affect awareness.

Enabling – reciprocal investment in development, growth and innovation both internally and externally (helping customers & suppliers grow as well as genuinely doing this for employees)

Autonomous – sufficient level of self-driven decision making with reciprocal relationships with system linkages (customers, suppliers etc) to enable their autonomy (see enabling for reciprocity)

Thriving – long term trajectory towards creating abundance through all points of systemic affect. Nurturing life at all levels.

There are a few entities I’ve encountered which would meet some, maybe on a good day, all of this criteria. Is yours working across all of these levels?
