Do not test my Limits. I am Patient!

What is patience? The simple answer you often hear is “the ability to wait.” However, patience isn’t truly about waiting — it’s maintaining a positive attitude while working diligently towards your goals, despite difficulties.

When examining definitions of patience, you’ll find references to continuing despite troubles, and enduring delays or setbacks without complaint or frustration.

Patience isn’t a discrete task you perform. Rather, it’s the spirit you bring to whatever task you are doing — the willingness to forge ahead without expecting immediate results or instant gratification.

In essence, patience boils down to persistently doing the work, day after day. Reflect on your progress, accept where you stand, learn, and adjust as needed. But shed unrealistic expectations, and don’t attach your efforts to specific outcomes.

Patience means engaging in the process, not anticipating the payoff. It’s about finding contentment in the climb rather than forever focusing on the summit. With consistent effort and a patient mindset, you’ll ascend high over time. However, obsession over results will only breed discontent along the journey.

So, in the end, it’s simple: do the work, be at peace with doing the work, allow the work to shape you, and let go of attachment to the fruits of the work. This is the essence of patience.

Cheers, Amit
