To know a man, look at his three best friends.

I think this applies to everyone, and from teen to team.

The hierarchy of needs

The Marslow’s hierarchy of needs tell us from the bottom of the hierarchy upwards: physiological, safety, love and belonging, esteem and self- actualization.

The keyword is belonging.

Once we are satisfied with physiological and safety, we tends to look for love and a sense of belongings. We try to belong to group of people around us and be part of the group. We like to be recognized and be accepted. This also applies to our childhood and extended to the workplace.

We tend to think like the group and easily influenced by the group’s thinking. We want to be part of them. Be part of the group before we want to show “but I’m different”.

The Group surrounded us

Who are the group you are talking about? You may wonder.

“🎼When I was young…I listen to the..” (~YESTERDAY ONCE MORE, CARPENTERS)

When we were really young or your kids are still in their infancy or toddler , our behavior is greatly affected by our parents – being the closest people around us.
