A recent study found that sight-unseen home purchases rose 19% in 2017. That trend is likely to continue as “3D virtual tours,” which enable prospective home-buyers to take immersive virtual walkthroughs, are becoming ever-more affordable.

By inspecting a home’s exterior with Google Street Maps and digitally touring its inside from their phones or computers, buyers can get a genuine sense of a property without ever setting a foot through the door.

Best of all, the price of producing VR tours is plummeting. Whereas a typical “capture” used to take an entire day and cost $1000s, now most captures are completed within 3 hours for a couple hundred bucks.
