Drive into the sun: How to love long commutes

My father-in-law assured me a 50-mile commute — helping a newly-elected governor — would be easy because “you’ll always be driving with the sun to your back.’’ Four years later, I’m learning to enjoy the hidden joys of driving into the sun.

The former is faster and easier while the latter is harder and slower — yet more fulfilling.
