Those babies in strollers are actually dogs? Fertility rates crashing, but pet sales are booming

A new Michigan war protest is dubbed “No Dogs Left Behind,” honoring the animals (and humans) abandoned when U.S. forces fled Afghanistan.

Birth rates for babies are at a record low while there is new demand for dogs. Strollers and playpens developed for babies are now back with “dog” versions, as one poll shows 78 percent of Americans consider dogs to be family.

“Dogs are taking the place of babies and children,” a worried Grosse Pointe Farms mother (with no grandchildren coming anytime soon from her 30-something children) laments.

Michigan’s televised ‘lead news’ funeral for a German Shepherd

Assumption Greek Church in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, made “lead news” in 2018 with an overflow crowd honoring a police dog. The service was live-streamed by media outlets as if a president or icon had died.
