Small Steps

Bite-sized leadership advice

Eat the elephant one bite at a time.

You are crazy busy, being pulled in many different directions.

There is little, if any, capacity in organisations to lead or make change. A different approach is needed. We use ‘Small Steps’.

Small steps promotes evolution over revolution, reducing the resistance and keeps the changes manageable.

Each small manageable step may feel smaller than you would like, but they are easy to adopt and when you look back over the distance you have travelled, it is further than you might imagine.

Evolution may not have the ‘big bang’ you are used to, but how is that working for you? All too often the steps taken are too big, generate resistance or overflow capacity and they are likely to fail to deliver.

The small steps approach leaves you with lasting and sustainable change and delivers your outcomes quicker, right first time.

By taking small, manageable steps the confidence and capacity of you and your team will be raised too, enabling more changes to happen.

Some practical advice

  1. Break changes down into small, manageable and sustainable steps.
  2. Take the first step, build confidence, measure to make sure it has happened
  3. Take the next step, build confidence, repeat.
  4. Pause, look back over the journey and be proud of what you have achieved.
