The scale of our ambition, which could be huge
is constrained, which feels bad
by the capacity, capability and conviction, useful to know
of you, the leader, really? we are constraining our ambition to one person?
Leadership is the #1 driver of organsiational change, without it organisations do not change.
There are three factors behind the constraint.
- Capacity: What other prioritites are you, the leader, juggling?
- Capability: Very few leaders have been to Change Leadership School and are skilled at leading change
- Conviction: How much of a sacrifice are you, as the leader, prepared to make?
Leadership is a participation sport, it cannot be delegated, or watched from the sidelines.
In the real world we are often focused on delivering performance, the day to day grind of being successful. Our organisations ask more and more of us, without realising that we become a constraining factor.
Build your resilience to build your capacity.
If you are not getting the results you expect, take a moment to do a sanity check of your capacity, capability and conviction.
Remember, as a leader you are human first, leader second.
