As leaders in education, our role as educators is to foster an environment that encourages growth, collaboration and continual improvement. Coaching and mentoring have proven powerful tools in aiding educators and school leaders navigate this ever-evolving sector of the economy. One approach which has gained great traction recently is GROW model — an approach to help individuals meet their goals while facing down any challenges that may arise in their journey to excellence.

The GROW model (an acronym for Goal, Reality, Options and Way Forward) provides a simple yet effective framework for coaching and mentoring conversations. Divided into four stages, this structure gives leaders a roadmap they can follow to support and guide their teams toward success. In this blog post, we’ll take an in-depth look at this framework as well as provide tips on incorporating it within schools or districts.
