Episode two is a 101 class on being an authentic social butterfly taught by journalist Storm Thompson and model Jordan Charles. They tell us about the reason they got into their respected fields and how to be yourself online.

Becoming a successful creative relies on a range of variables: knowing the right people, having work to showcase and building a reputation — which often stumps most people at the beginning stages. Where do I meet the right people? How do I know my work is ready to show the world? These questions often lead to procrastination and overwhelm.

“highlighting the stories of marginalised people.”

Storm and Jordan are great examples of how imperative it is to build a portfolio and confidence within your field. They have both collaborated with other creatives, put their work out there and have aligned there creative work with the mission of highlighting the stories of marginalised people.

Making your work apart of your moral standing is an concept that truly stood out to me. With social media seen as a vain popularity contest, it was refreshing to hear about the work they do to serve those who do not have the privilege of having their voices heard.
