A List Of Excuses For Snoozing Your Life

The alarm went off and she hit the snooze button. Then 9 minutes later, it went off again. BANG! One more time…SNOOZE! Then again, 9 minutes later, BEEP! And this cycle went on for about an hour. When she finally got out of bed, she was more tired than she went to bed. She’d spent the last 60–75 minutes fighting a battle and achieving only interrupted sleep. Yet, she did this every day, complaining at the end of the day how tired she was.

Although this paragraph is not describing me, I know the story well. I’ve lived some of it. I’ve lived it in sleep but I’ve also lived it in life. You know what I’m talking about. You make a plan to do something, but when the time comes, you come up with some reason it needs to wait.

“I don’t have enough money right now.”

“It’s not the right time.”

“I have this important project on my plate.”

“I just don’t have the time right now.”

“It’s not ready to go to market yet.”

“No one is buying stuff like this right now.”

“I need to study some more.”

“My mind is not ready right now.”

“The kids…”

“My spouse…”

“My doctor…”

“My team isn’t ready…”

“We don’t have the right infrastructure built out yet.”

“I’ll go tomorrow…”

“It’s too early.”

“It’s too late.”

“I’m not going to make the deadline, so what’s the point.”

“I’m tired.”

“I don’t have enough resources.”

“I’m overwhelmed right now.”

“It’s a huge undertaking.”

How many of these have you used personally? Have you ever heard any of these leave your lips?

What are you going to do about it?
You can wake up and put some action to those dreams. Or…you can keep hitting the snooze button.
