Features List

Project Background

Development teams have moved away from the waterfall methodology of old industrial production chains and have adopted a methodology that is better suited to a product that can be continually improved over time. Agile and lean methodologies recognize the need to disrupt old models and create new ways of doing things. Sometimes this means entirely new approaches to old problems. Other times this means the ability to quickly incrementally modify and test changes to an existing system.

Project Objectives

Form a creative team and work together to assess the current Features List (I would suggest that the group could divide itself into 4 groups of 7 people). Based on the Creative Brief and the user group defined for the Alleys of Abbotsford app, create a final version of the features list for the app. As a team, explore, communicate, and validate design concepts. The final features list will be based on the results of your design process, along with a design rationale.

Project Description

The features list should include the client’s request and you are free to add up to 2 additional features. If you feel a current feature needs to be modified please include an explanation on why your team decided on this. The features list can also be broken down in phases if time and budget is limited such as phase 1, phase 2, phase 3, etc.

• A short rationale on what the goals of the app and the reasons for your choice as a UX team should be included as part of the features list.
• How does the app help solve the problem for this specific user group?
• What is the goal of the app?

Project Deliverables

Create a document for presentation that provides the updated Features List as well as the rationale of your design choices as a team.

The app needs to be easy to navigate where photos, video can be tagged and liked at all times.

Media Upload

• Upload, manage and share photo/videos of favourite spots
• Favourites section, add photo/videos to favourites spots and rate them
• Connect with other members and tag and like each other’s favourite hot spots
• Photo/Video commenting system

User Profiles

• Organize, upload and share own photo/videos with friends, family & the world
• Friends list — display friends on the profile page
• Display where the user is from Fraser Valley / Vancouver /
• List of favourite to do’s
• Tag other profiles
• Track GPS location in Abbotsford

Settings

• Age, username, location, connect via facebook profile
• Turn on/off GPS tracker
