Leadza CBO transition: Age/gender, Platform/Device Position and AdsKeywords optimizations update

As you know, Facebook introduced Campaign Budget Optimisation late 2017. It’s a new feature that helps you automatically redistribute your budget to the best performing audience. In some cases, this feature will be mandatory and can completely change how you create and scale your Facebook ads campaigns. So, how do you prepare for the upcoming changes to your account? And how Leadza will adapt for these changes helping your better optimize your Facebook campaigns?

How CBO will change your campaign structure

As Campaign Budget Optimization is currently entirely optional, many advertisers have ignored the option, but a recent decision by Facebook to make it compulsory for selected accounts starting in September has put Campaign Budget Optimization in the spotlight. With Campaign Budget Optimization enabled, Facebook is automatically taking the budget and redistributing it to the better performing ad sets.

In addition to helping you manage your budget automatically, Facebook also boasts several other benefits of this feature.

  • You can obtain more value from the campaigns
  • You can spend less time managing campaigns
  • You can avoid restarting a learning phase
  • You can efficiently manage your spend across the audiences and avoid the audience overlap

These are really great news. We will publish a full guide on how to be better prepared for CBO changes soon. And now with all things said above we are on the way to ensure you a smooth transition and help you get better results with your CBO campaigns managed by Leadza.

We already finished the CBO transition for three Leadza optimizations:

  • Age/gender optimization
  • Platform/device optimization
  • AdsKeywords & Interest Suggestions

And are happy to share how the CBO change has already affected there three features.

Age/gender, Platform/Device Position and AdsKeywords optimizations update

You remember that you are able to set up your own conditions for optimizations in your Leadza personal account:

For your convenience we added a CBO part in the beginning of your Campaign Name chosen in the Campaign Filter to simplify the grouping process. Now you are able to see which campaigns in your Ad Account use CBO and which are not to group them by type while creating your new optimization with Leadza.

In the second part of settings nothing changed:

  • You are still able to change your Optimization goal from Conversions (for example) to any other event (even ROAS) depending on your final marketing goal.
  • If you have some outdated ad sets in your campaigns simply ask the system to analyze only those which are active.
  • You can let the system turn off parent ad set when your testing ad set with narrowed down parameters is running.

After you are done with the settings you can click on the “Bell” icon to get the suggestions right in your Facebook Messenger or wait for your daily portion of tips.

When implementing the suggestion there are two options now:

  1. If your campaigns chosen in the Campaign Filter have the ad set budget settings then Leadza will duplicate the best performing ad set and create a new one by setting the minimum daily budget for it calculated by the system depending on the quality of your previous statistics. So in your Ad Manager you will see a new Ad Set created in the same campaign with minimum required daily budget.

2. If you have CBO campaigns then Leadza will duplicate the best performing ad set and put a new one in the same campaign without setting any budget for it because your budget is managed by Facebook on the campaign level. So in your Ad Manager you will see a new Ad Set created in the same campaign.

What’s next? Relax and do something nice.

You’re all set now!
