Elisa Steele, Board Chair at Everwise

It was great seeing many of you at our last event on mentorship! For those of you who couldn’t make it, here are a few action items from Elisa:

  • Get a mentor, even if it’s scary to ask for one. They’re really beneficial, no matter what stage of career growth you’re in.
  • Establish your own board of directors. Many people will play a different role in helping you grow. Some might help you build skills, while others will give you the tough feedback you need to hear or help you expand your network. Don’t settle for a single mentor!
  • Sponsor someone. As women, we need to lift each other up. If you’re in a position to help, bring another woman along for the ride!

If women advance into leadership at the current rates, it will take until 2095 to achieve global gender parity in the workplace. To understand the current barriers, check out Everwise’s free eBook on The Gender Gap in Leadership. Request a demo if your organization is looking for talent development and training materials to help bridge this gap.
