The last full week of LEAP academy is a special time, one filled with both sadness and relief for our guides Pak Mo and Pak Noan. It’s the time when we finally get to showcase the culmination of all our work to the rest of the school… and they better be pretty impressed.

One of the biggest part of the presentations was getting to display all the absolutely awesome pictures we took over the course of 6 weeks. Our group Instagram page now has over 400 followers which isn’t bad. I’ve never really liked taking pictures much but recently I think I’ve learned to appreciate them, being able to look back over the awesome memories we’ve created.

As our last LEAP activity we gave presentations to three different High School classes, grade 9, grade 10, and grade 11/12. In the presentations we explained what our project was about and what we did to accomplish our goals. I only wish our friends Fynn and Naryan could have been there.

To quickly summarize what we have done this block: We made connections with multiple major nature conservation organizations, raised money by running our own business in school, researched reefs and expanded our knowledge of environmental science, created an understanding of bio-indicators and keystone species, became PADI level 1 freediving certified and learned about biology in the process, then finally constructed our own artificial reefs and placed them in the ocean near Tianyar.

I know, It’s a lot. It’s already obvious to me how hard it is going to be reentering regular school after such an action packed month and a half (Even though Green school is awesome). But to wrap up the last sentence of the last blog post of the last day of LEAP academy, I have to express just how much I’ve enjoyed it.
