LEAP is a program that green school supplies, so students can broaden their horizons and experience a little taste of the “real world”. Out of all the different options of projects (exploring caves, planning bike rides routes, sustainable mosquito breeding and a social experiment similar to the lord or the flies), us being teenagers the choice was almost palpable, we were going to subject ourselves to being stuck on a deserted island for 5 days without basic needs. Lord of the flies, here we come!

The adventure that awaits us, will take a lot of planning, concentration, and cooperation. We started off with breaking up into groups and deciding what the steps were to get this project done and the process, we also talked the risks and how psychologically challenging it will be. The overall trip would need us to work together yet separately and put our strengths together. We have a total of 9 groups working on making this project work; cooking and farming, food hunting and preservation, herbology and gathering, waste management, hygiene and toiletries, social systems, medicine and first aid and, shelter.
We are also starting a proposal for Ben, Berwyn, and Con, considering they own the part of the island were staying on! It’s going to be hard work to get this done but it’ll be an adventure the whole time.
