The first week of Leap is always interesting, we get to know the people in our team a bit better.

What they like and dislike becomes more apparent throughout the block. We have to come together and decide how we want to spend our next five weeks, a lot of disputes can arise during this time due to differing opinions but this block has been fairly smooth sailing. For instance we started off the week by spending a night together camping in the Bukit. The walk down to the site was treacherous, but we managed just fine. We spend the day doing group activities so we got used to working with other people, this was great. Pak Mo made sure we had plenty of free time to explore the area as well as tire ourselves out a bit so he could get some peace. That night we all had a bit of a hard time, there was a storm. The heavens rained down on humanity leaving gale winds in their wake, our hearts were wrenched with fear. Not really but our tents got wet so it was an uncomfortable sleep.

Besides from the team building camping trip we received 18 pitches from enthusiastic adults, we ended up sticking to Mo’s idea but we will be incorporating some of the other ideas on our trip. After we decided what we wanted to do we had to sit down and think of the logistics of it and how we can actually pull it off in our short time. This part of the project is not the best and most fun part, but I truly believe that it is just about the most important phase. Our main plan is to see if we can survive by living off the land on a small island in order to pull this off successfully we decided as a group that we would spit up into different splinter cells each with differing tasks and responsibilities so that we can work together as a thriving community.
