It’s well known that Google launches easter egg products on April Fools day each year, and Google takes a long time and a lot of work to plan each year’s launch.

As long time ex-Googlers, both Richard and I wanted to do something in our company too. The timing is perfect:

  • It’s April Fools day
  • It’s Easter
  • It’s also Leap.ai’s 2 year anniversary (we were founded on April 1st, 2016)

So how do we combine all these pieces together?

An idea came on Thur March 29th, during our lunch. What about an actual easter egg, hatched into a baby unicorn, and help it grow, and finally based on the growth, create a picture of the grown unicorn, plus a fun matched job title?

The team got together, design, engineering, operations, and marketing (and testing by eager kids). A few days later, right after midnight April 1st, 2018, LifeHack is launched.

So far, the response from our users has been nothing but great. Let me quote one:

Wow, this seems like an amazing opportunity. I already quit my job to pursue this role full-time. Please do get me in touch with the recruiter :)

Happy April Fools Day!

Thank you, G.D. You made all our effort worth it. — That, is not an April Fools joke.
