TheHumaDutyNFT
Introduction
In early 2022, like many people, I heard about NFTs, but my attention towards them stopped pretty quickly because I associated them with capitalism pushed to its extreme. However, after learning more about the blockchain, I genuinely believe in this technology. Therefore, I overcame my initial negativity and found solutions to make them more appealing than just random JPEGs. That’s why, together with my girlfriend, we decided to create our first collection, the HumaDutyNFTs, to enhance the protection of animals.
Background about NFTs
During 2021 and early 2022, NFTs became very popular, and many people were purchasing them. They were always very controversial, but nowadays (2023), most people negatively perceive them. However, they contain this fantastic technology: the blockchain, which allows precious things in digital art, collectibles, gaming, and many other industries, as they bring new possibilities for ownership, scarcity, and authenticity of digital assets. Sadly, as mentioned in our whitepaper, “99% of the current NFTs are useless” this means that the current projects don’t provide any value/solve any problem. My teacher from the cryptocurrency course believes that NFT might need a new name to overcome its bad image. Personally, I think that serious projects can still have a chance to be successful, even with the NFT label.
The Concept of Humaduty
The project aims at helping animals through the sale of 5 collections with the following features:
- All animal-oriented
- 80% of the sales go to animal protection associations
- 312 unique NFTs (3 rarities) per collection
- Real-life utilities (donation, lottery, voting rights, game integration)
- Eco-friendly block-chain(s)
What value do our NFTs have?
The owner of our NFTs will help a cause that deeply touches us: animals. We use the NFTs to do something useful: raising funds for associations devoted to animal protection.
We understand the importance of not only receiving from our community (donations) but also giving back! That’s why every NFT holder will be able to participate in the lotteries. More information can be found in the whitepaper.
Our first collection: TheHumadutyNFT#1
The first collection is the most important since it will give visibility to our project. We made a choice to touch upon a large audience. In fact, the collection theme is zodiac signs.
My girlfriend (graphic designer) has drawn amazing hand-made NFTs. The collection consists of 312 unique NFTs with different emotions and rarities (240 coloreds, 60 black & white, and 12 ultra-rare gold NFTs). Check “Humalottery” in the NFT utility section to see the differences between the rarities. The goal of this first collection is to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The money raised from the launch will protect endangered species' natural habitats. The choice of WWF was straightforward since they already offered a beautiful collection of NFT animals that raised more than $270,000.
