Levels of Beginner English

When it comes to learning English, there are many different levels of proficiency.

These levels range from A1 to C2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

  • A1 is the lowest level, and this is usually where most students begin. At this level, learners are able to understand basic phrases and greetings in English and can use simple words and sentences to express themselves.
  • A2, learners are able to understand more complex language and can begin having conversations in English. They are also able to write short texts, such as emails and letters.
