📔 Intro to the Framework

Hi, my name is Anfisa and I’m working full-time, running an online course for UX designers, running a UX insta-blog and, of course, having a family + dog to dedicate my time to. Yes, that’s a lot.

But I’m also planning to double it in 2020. So, how am I planning to grow it if I can barely find some free time? The truth behind success is the accountability of your time and actionable steps towards your goals.

2 years ago I tried to create a Trello Year planning system #1 but realized that I can only feel engaged with it for the first 3–4 months. Later my plans change and I simply forget to use it. The biggest issues of Trello are:

  • 🦅A lack of a Bird-sight view to constantly remind your goals and stay on track.
  • 🧮 And a lack of flexibility. Our goals can change radically in only one month, so the system must be designed to be flexible and adjustable.

📓 Intro to the Notion

Just a few blocks options (there are 50+ blocks)

In 2019 I’ve discovered Notion and totally fell in love in countless possibilities it provides for anything. In a nutshell, Notion is a mix of:

Web page ➕ Trello boards ➕ Excel ➕ To-do’s ➕ Any content blocks ➕ Any table views ➕ Calendars ➕ Galeries ➕ ANYTHING you only wish to have in the easy to manage the journal.

The framework is pretty simple. Our year is divided by Quarters, Months, Weeks (Q/M/W).
This Notion template just mimics the same logic.

All that’s left for you to do is:

  1. Set priorities every Q/M/W.
  2. Track progress.
  3. Reflect on how did it go.

Reflecting on your past Q/M/W allows you to stay focused on your goals and if they change, to be honest with your next priorities. Also, since you have a clear overview of how much free time you have, you can be more realistic about what you can achieve in (let’s say) 20 free hours/week.

🗂 What’s inside of the Quarter / Month / Week?

1️⃣ Quater overview:

  • Access each Quarter month
  • Set priorities
  • Set goals in different life aspects
  • Track progress
  • Reflect

2️⃣ Month overview

  • Access each Week
  • Set priorities
  • Set goals in different life aspects
  • Track progress
  • Reflect

3️⃣ Week overview

  • Access your calendar
  • Set priorities
  • Track daily progress
  • Reflect

❓ How to copy the Framework

Unfortunately, atm Notion only allows to Duplicate 5000 blocks at the same time, so it makes impossible to copy/paste it all to your account. But, it’s not a problem.

There is a pretty easy workaround about it. You can just copy the Quarter pages and add them to your own dashboard. All you have to do is:

1️⃣ Create a new page in your own account. Name it anyhow you like.

2️⃣ Go to this Template. Select all the blocks and hit CMD+C (copy).

3️⃣ Go back to your newly created page and hit CMD+V (paste).

4️⃣ That’s it! You can also add columns, rename all the pages and modify blocks. You can check how to do it in my YouTube video Framework review.
