Dear Tilo,

Thank you for accepting the Learner’s Commune 2039 invitation and committing to a new standard of teaching and learning. Moving forward it is important to think about the kinds of professions that are proliferating in the world today. A lot of them stem from being a reaction to what has happened and what is to come. The fortune telling artifact is a playful instrument reminiscent of elementary school days where people would give “truth or dare” assignments. Similar to that notion this artifact will guide you into thinking about your next learning endeavor whether you choose to teach it or study it is up to you. Just keep us informed as to what your decision is!

How to Play:

Fortune Telling Example
  1. Hold the fortune teller as shown in illustration above.
  2. Spell out the value you selected from one of the four outer quadrants, opening and closing the fortune teller on each alternating letter.
  3. This will reveal four of the numbers written inside. Pick one of these numbers and count to it, opening and closing on every number. Now, pick a final number, lift the flap and read the fortune written underneath.

4. Reflect upon your choice and record your thoughts about this experience in Eugenia’s slide deck that she will be sharing with you.
