Moses Chukwunenye

My name is Chukwunenye Moses. I hail from Okoko-Item, Bende L.G.A in Abia State, Nigeria. I am the first and only son of a Christian family of 5. My hobbies are watching movies, listening to music, reading virtually anything, and traveling to new places.

Having given a brief biography of my personal life, let me delve into the bone of contention, my programming life. I am currently a 400 Level undergraduate of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike and a cohort v2.2 intern of LearnFactory Nigeria. I learnt of the life-changing LearnFactory internship program from a previous intern, Jerry Chukwuka by name. Am forever indebted to that friend of mine. When he told me of the free 6-month internship, I immediately felt this vivacity within me that this was made for me. Software development, Web and mobile app development using ReactJs, React Native, MongoDB and a whole lot of other packages installed into the programme. Learning all these aforementioned web technologies would be more than a dream come true and a very gigantic boost in my programming life.

Firstly, it was a desire that my heart yearned for, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that would serve as a milestone for my quest to becoming a world class developer in a few years to come.

Secondly, it felt like God had predestined it to coincide with my 6-month I.T vis-a-vis my course-of- study’s syllabus.

He gave me the address to the company and I found my way like a wanderer to its stairways. When I walked into the office of the secretary and explained myself, she gave me a brief recap of the whole thing and I requested if she could send me the link. Well, she did and I applied immediately. A few weeks later I received a confirmation letter that I had been accepted. At that juncture,my joy knew no bounds.

When I and the other interns in cohortv2.2 started the programme, it at first felt like one would be chagrined by the concepts surrounding the packages they were offering. Well, fast-forward 2 months now and I threw a 2-months challenge on myself, the difference is clear because I have migrated from a programmer with titty-bitty knowledge of what’s going on to a certain level that am quite proud of.

me coding away

During these two months, perfectly bearing a similitude to what the original designers did, I have been able to;

1 Clone the home page of freecodecamp.org

2 Clone the home page of jumia.com.ng

3 Clone the login page of twitter.com

All using HTML and CSS and have also built the following apps by vanilla JavaScript inclusive;

4 A Grader Calculator App.

5 A TodoList App.

among other side mini-projects.

My team (Team Sudo) was also able to build a functional secondary school management website as a project we were tasked to come up with all in just 2 months.

Am currently learning a JavaScript library, ReactJs with which I could design beautiful UIs. Afterwards, I’ll be learning React Native, GraphQL, MongoDB and some other interesting packages.

The company, LearnFactory Nigeria aren’t just guiding us on coding, they have also educated us on the modus operandi of the Tech World and exposed us to some of the top-notch web developers in the country in the name of David Daser, Hanson Johnson to mention just but a few.

I have always known that the first 25 years of a man’s life is the period where he lays down the principles that will guide him through the remainder of his time on Earth. LearnFactory Nigeria have not only impacted my programming life, this family have also affected my personal life for good as I have come to emulate some good qualities from everyone around. Through LearnFactory Nigeria, I have come to develop my coding skills, interpersonal relationship skills, teamwork and collaboration skills, disciplinary skills, among a host of others. I have also found a set of new hobbies; eating, sleeping, and coding.

To that effect, am rest assured that after these 6 months coupled with a lot of hard work and consistency, I’ll be of much value to the world that I can only be limited by nothing but ideas and lack of problems to solve.

You can have a life of your dream when you wake up, rise up and take the step that draws you closer to the realization of that dream. Moses is a very interesting one, he is lively and participates well in keeping the warm flow of daily activities. Zeal keeps us all on track, discipline internalizes the lessons learned from all the numerous hurdles we scale through.

Moses, a respectful fellow, a team lead, a programmer with skills. Moses is one of the interns I appreciate so much for his diligence and willingness to get tasks done and done properly. Vincent Chibuike

I love Moses for his consistency in nailing challenges and overcoming them. He is a rare kind of intern and I see him taking greater heights. Ugwuanyi Chidera
