Immune President
The Supreme Court declared that some of the actions undertaken by the President of The United States possessed a degree of immunity last week. Everyone was up in arms about it calling the country a monarchy and publishing cartoons claiming “one person is above the law”.
Anybody who argues this obviously has no idea about the kinds of activities that the POTUS is engaged in or the illegality of their conduct and the gross violation of every statute put in place after the Second World War.
The most blatant manifestation of this has been the shipping of weapons to Israel, a country engaged in genocide in Gaza. They still call it a war, only to make it clear that they don’t know what ‘War’ means.
While this is a more recent example, the entire history of the CIA is replete with examples of assassinations, regime change, extra-territorial murders and fomentation of revolt.
There is a reason the CIA is known as the hidden hand of the president. Plausible deniability.
All these acts are squarely illegal AND the American monarch is protected against these normally by the use of rubber-stamp multi-lateral organisations that are meant to sign off on anything that the US does.
Where are the weapons of mass destruction from Iraq? What were the consequences faced by the monarch?
They will claim that Saddam was a dictator; well then why don’t you attack China and Russia? Because they have nuclear weapons? The only reason they attacked Iraq was probably because they knew there were no weapons of mass destruction!
Every president since the founding of the country has been engaged in illegal activities on behalf of the republic. Even Abraham Lincoln signed off on some of the greatest atrocities on the Natives.
It has always been fine because the illegality of the actions was always directed towards the OTHERS.
The natives, the Spanish, the Filipinos, the Sundanese, the Libyans, the Guatemalans, the Cubans, the Vietnamese, the Koreans, the Afghans, the Iraqis, the Yemeni, the Iranians, and the list goes on.
Donald Trump is the first instance where the President decided to bite the hand that feeds. The Americans are at the receiving end of the bitter pill.
Suddenly the monarchy is obvious to see!
