An old tree is falling

It’s been suffering rot

For quite some time

People have been saying it should be cut

A virus came instead

So now it’s falling

The dark it caused is opening

Allowing in light

To the young ones

Fallen,

New saplings can grow

In directions different to the old

Finding the sky for themselves
