Group Presentation

We presented our design case to our clients and professionals and we received many useful feedbacks to guide the further iteration of our design solution.

Critique and iteration

  1. Design Features and Educational Outcomes Need to be More Aligned

One of the feedback mentioned that our design features and the learning outcomes are not directly connected. As a result, we dig deeper into our specific features and the desired learning outcomes in order to make them more aligned. We then made arguments that “We are expecting our product to assist students in better learning procedural skills (documentation skill + project management skill) and developing dispositions (ownership + social awareness).” (for more detail, please visit our Project Overview story).

2)Usage Scenario needs to be clarified

Some of the audience were confused by our scenario of using. Where should this interactive learning workspace be placed in a school? Which room are they going to implement this technology? How is the classroom look like?

We realized it’s an important part for the audience to understand our design. As a result, we decided to add a short description:

Currently, WT school has two meeting rooms in their library, with one long table and one whiteboard in the room. The instructor mentioned that this room can be used as a room to implement our system.

3)How “Launch” can act as an “add-on” to their previous workflow?

The audience showed confusion on their previous workflow and how our current solution can be integrated into their workflow. We made an original student experience map to show their previous workflow and it can be compared with our learner experience map (desired):

Hi-fi Iteration (revised feature)

We then conducted another round of user testing and iterated on our Hi-fi Prototype.

1)Added an entrance for students to check all pictures/videos/files

In case students want to view all photos/videos/files instead of browsing within the timeline, we created a new entrance for students to view their files within a certain period of time. For “Saved Photos”, our system can automatically group the pictures by AI automatic labeling, and for “Recorded Videos”, our system can automatically highlight the most essential parts and students can choose only to play the highlighted part.

2)Added a “preview” function and a new entrance for starting the work session on the homepage

On the homepage, students can click on any file in the “Last Time You Left Here” section and they can choose whether to continue work on it or go back:

3)Added guidance before students start to do the reflection

In order to help students understand how to use the reflection function, we added a small pop-up window before this section:
