After the research phase, we reached the intersection of the double-diamond. In order to conduct the next round of diverging, we started with a “How-Might-We” Problem Statement brainstorm session:

“How-Might-We” Problem Statement Brainstorm

We used Slip Writing method to brainstorm. The brainwriting process involved having each group member anonymously write down ideas on sticky notes. This approach is also called “Crawford Slip Writing,” as the basic concept was invented in the 1920s by a professor named Crawford.

We generated 50+ initial “how-might-we” questions and clustered them into three main segments:

● How Might We Help Students Organize Their Work Pieces?

● How Might We Record Students’ Working Process Without Too Many Interruptions?

● How Might We Ask Students to Reflect On the Documentation?

We then focused our design solution on these three segments and started the ideation phase.
