When I decided to go abroad, my friends asked me why you want to leave your company even you have worked for two years. I answered because I want to know more knowledge about UX design and I don’t want other people just think I am a designer who just can draw the picture.
This semester, we have a course of Digital Experience Design. I am so exciting when I know we will study the UX design. I don’t have any foundation about the UX design, so it seems like I can know new things in every class. Professor taught us a lot of knowledge, include On-boarding Flows, Task Flow Interview, Persona, Feature Plan, Gestalt Design Laws, Validation Test and so on. According to this semester, I am focus on the skill of interview and I think I get a big improve in this part.
This is the record in my cellphone. When I see this now, I can remember many things during the interview.
I can remember the first time I make a interview with someone. I am so nervous even I have practiced many times. I just can read the questions to my users. I thought it was very strange because the user’s answer is different but I still asked same questions. Then, I know the interview script just like a outline. We need make interview depends on user’s answer. Sometimes, we also need to observe users. Now, I may just write less 10 questions in my script, but I will ask more than 15 questions when I interview with users. I will find the interested points for users and ask more details about these points. Finally, analysis is also very important for design. If I can not find enough information, I will come back to make this interview again.
In conclusion, designers needs gist to support their design. If you don’t make a research before design, you will make a design without “soul”!
