- I am writing this post as reflective note on classroom teaching at SUPET.
Gujarati — Grade 3
- textbooks are very well designed based on learning outcomes. Focused on language comprehension, creativity, socio — emotional learning.
What I did differently?
- Started my class with informal talk
- Started talking about the topic through the examples of students prior experiences
- During the class I shared funny incidents, jokes and voice modulation which make students laugh.
- I asked questions and heard answers from as many children as I could. Never gave direct answer
- We did simple physical exercises (jumping, stretching, etc) in every 7 to 10 min
EVS — Grade 3
- EVS textbook is translated from NCERT textbook. It is very well designed focused on critical thinking, problem solving, connecting with local environment and community.
What I did differently?
- Apart from what I tried in gujarati class I started my session with story, poem, video, photograph related or partly related to topic. For example I started my session on the topic called ‘Work we do’ with story called ‘Adil Ali’s Shoes’ which include lots of different type of workers from day to day life.
