Enhancements Rolled Out at Learnist

At Learnist, we’re committed to building a community of curious people who can quickly and easily share knowledge on any topic. One way we support the Learnist community is by creating the tools and functionality our members need in order to interact in ways that come naturally and intuitively.

Our team recently rolled out some enhancements that we believe are a great starting point for nurturing the Learnist community: comments and augmented reading list information.

Comments are back!

You may have noticed that at the end of each Learning, there is now a simple dialogue for you to submit your comments. You’ll also see comments made by other Learnist members. Some of you may remember that a similar comments feature was disabled some time ago. We’re always on the lookout for ways to make the site leaner and cleaner. As it turns out, your feedback told us that inclusion of comments to Learnings and Learn Boards helps to improve the quality of content and the quality of community interaction.

So they’re back. You’ll now be able to comment on a specific Learning, or leave a remark, recommendation or question on the Board in general.

Know of a resource that would be helpful on the topic? Do you have lingering questions about the topic or did you find some of the content unclear? Would you simply like to thank the author for a job well done? The remarks section is your opportunity.

Reading List Additions Are Now Visible on The Board

The ability to add a Learn Board to your personal Learnist Reading List has been available for some time, and you’ve always been able to see how many people have put a board in their list. In addition, you’ll now be able to see who added a particular board to their list, not just how many people added it.

With the clickable avatars above the “Add to Reading List” bar, you will be able to learn more about the people who are interested in the same topics as you. This information may also give you some sense of the quality and nature of information on the board.

Not only that, if you’re looking for a particular Learnist member, you can now find people in site search.

These subtle enhancements are just the beginning of a reinvigorated focus on community at Learnist. Each step along the way, we’ll be listening to your feedback and working to improve your experience. We remain committed to the same lean and elegant feel and functionality that you’ve come to expect from Learnist.

Premium Content is Just One Click Away

As you probably know, we’ve been adding lots of new Premium content to Learnist over the past few weeks. Now you can find all of it with just a single click. It’s linked from the very top of the left sidebar navigation menu.

We think you’ll love our new Premium Learn Boards, so we’ve made it easier than ever to find them.

Our team is working day and night to improve the information, experience and interaction you find on Learnist. We’ll continue to draw your attention to new features and functionality as we journey together through 2015.

P.S.: Your feedback is extremely important to us, please send us a message with your thoughts or ideas on this stuff. Just click the black “Feedback?” bar in the upper left on our site. We’re really listening.
