LectureNotes — One of the Most Innovative Startups in Eastern India

According to StartupTalky.com, “With big cities gradually losing their shine and attraction, many emerging startups are focusing on tier 2 cities for growth and sustenance.” LectureNotes is one of the startups that are growing rapidly and attracting investors despite operating in tier 2 cities. The edtech company was founded by Ayush Agarwal in 2017 with the aim to create a community-driven platform that brings teachers and students together from various educational institutions and regions.

LectureNotes has been expanding its business operations, generating revenue, and attracting investment by fostering innovation. The consistent increase in the number of students and teachers accessing the digital platform indicated the effectiveness of the innovative solutions provided by LectureNotes. At present, the community-driven platform is currently accessed by over 1 million students and 25000 teachers on a regular basis.

Also, LectureNotes raised angel funding of Rs.2.5 crore from HNIs, an investor group based in Singapore. The edtech company aims to use the funding to transform online education by building an AI platform. The AI platform will help over 5 million students to acquire knowledge and improve exam performance by implementing an AI-powered recommendation system. LectureNotes has already taken a slew of measures to be called as one of the most innovative startups in Eastern India.

5 Ways LectureNotes has Transformed Online Education by Fostering Innovation

1. Building a Community-Driven Platform

The community-driven platform launched by LectureNotes brings students and teachers together from various educational institutions and regions. The innovative platform makes LectureNotes distinct from other edtech enterprises. Unlike other edtech enterprises, LectureNotes does not offer any specific solution. Instead, it enables students to acquire knowledge, improve exam performance, and prepare for placement by collaborating with teachers and students. At present, more than 1 million students connect and collaborate with over 25000 teachers using the innovative platform.

2. Solving Real Problems Faced by Students

Like other innovative startups, LectureNotes aims to solve real and important problems faced by users innovatively. Often students find it difficult to understand concepts and improve communication skills while taking notes in classrooms. LectureNotes enables students to improve exam performance and participate in classroom discussions by accessing a wide range of online content — university notes, video lectures, solved question papers, and question banks.

3. Facilitating Flipped Learning

LectureNotes encourages teachers to help students resolve various problems by sharing content prepared by them. At present, over 25000 teachers share a wide range of content with students over the internet using the community-driven platform. They use the easy-to-use options provided by the digital platform to upload and share the content prepared by them without any hassle or delay. Many teachers even take advantage of the innovative digital platform to facilitate flipped learning and create flipped classroom by overcoming constraints related to resources.

4. Launching New Programs

Along with adding out-0f-box features to the edtech platform, LectureNotes has been expanding its user base by launching innovative programs. Recently, the edtech startup launched a premium subscription service called LectureNotes Prime. As LectureNotes Prime members, students can access a wide range of premium content, while interacting with teachers over the internet. Likewise, the LectureNotes Campus Ambassador Program helps students to improve their communication and leadership skills by guiding the community. The innovative programs make LectureNotes different from other edtech startups in India.

5. Investing in R&D

As mentioned earlier, LectureNotes raised angel funding of Rs 2.5 crore from NHI in 2019. The edtech startup has already revealed its plan to invest the funds in research and development. It plans to launch an AI-driven platform that will boost online learning by providing AI-powered recommendations. Also, Ayush aims to make LectureNotes the go-to place for people in education for skilling and employability. The investment in R&D helps the edtech startup hugely to foster innovation, stay relevant, and generate revenue in the long run.

Despite operating from a tier 2 city, LectureNotes sustains growth and attract investment by fostering innovation. In addition to being one of the most innovative startups in Eastern India, LectureNotes has also emerged as a leading edtech enterprise in India. The constant innovation and investment in R&D will convert LectureNotes into the new generation edtech startups in India.
