We are pleased to announce the release of Ledger Vault — a secure and efficient way to exchange files through the Ledger Platform.

As part of our promise to streamline the securitization of insurance risk, we recognize the importance of collaboration between insurers and investors. Ledger Vault is our solution to securely send and receive important files with the right people as efficiently as possible.

Simple, Secure

Collecting and sending files has never been easier. And since vaults are data agnostic and support large file sizes, policy data, modeling results, and offering documents are only a few examples of the types of files that can be securely exchanged.

Just because something is simple does not mean it shouldn’t be secure. To keep your valuable information safe, we built Ledger Vaults with security in mind. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)/Transport Layer Security (TLS) to protect your data anytime it is in transit and your files are encrypted at rest using 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256). Shared links are revocable and configured to expire and/or require a password.

Faster Integration with Ledger Platform

Insurance systems are expensive to upgrade. Ledger Vault is part of the Ledger Platform access package and provides valuable services at no additional costs for insurers. We now allow multiple data sources to be consolidated. Over the years, we have developed solutions to merge data from policy administration systems, underwriting reports, actuarial analysis, third-party providers, in-house database servers or static data dumps.

The Vault was made fast and reliable thanks to Amazon and Google Cloud technologies as supporting infrastructures.

Data Contributions Enhance Risk Transparency

Insurance companies and risk originators are collecting an increasing amount of data without always being able to value it meaningfully.

Advanced analytics today differ from traditional actuarial analysis because they use utilize both internal and external datasets, which enable them to identify new predictive models and provide real-time insights to the business. The past methodology used predefined models to process and analyze structured and complete datasets in order to determine business variables such as rates and prices. Ledger Vault makes it possible to offload strategic analysis to its machine learning team that is capable of working with heterogeneous and incomplete datasets while maintaining ownership and control over the developed analytics.

This enables “on-demand” analysis from the Ledger Vault data.
