The public blockchain platform LEDGIS has been certified by the International Organization for Standardization for acquiring two types of ISO certificates, ISO27001(Information Security Management System) and ISO27701(The Privacy Information Management System), related to LEDGIS wallet and RealCollection, the premium art based NFT marketplace, on February 24.

ISO27001 certification is an international standard information security certificate that specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continuously improving an Information Security Management System(ISMS). It requires passing the screening of 114 standards in 14 areas, including information protection policy, physical security, and information access control, etc. in the field due diligence.

On the other hand, ISO27701 certificate is an extension of ISO27001, which provides additional guidance on ‘protection of privacy’ in the collection and processing of personal information. To achieve this requires meeting all 49 standards in 8 areas set by the EU-GDPR(General Data Protection Regulation), including personal information management procedures, encryption, and de-identification.

ISO27001 and ISO27701 are the most authoritative international standard certificates for information protection and personal information management, each respectively. Once the certificate is obtained, a three-year validity period is granted, and an annual follow-up review is conducted during the validity period to maintain its effectiveness.

ISO27001 and ISO277701 certificates are not mandatory for virtual asset or blockchain-related business operators. However, through these certificates, LEDGIS has been able to prove the information security capabilities of LEDGIS wallet and RealCollection services, including IDH(Identity Data Hub) that stores and manages users’ virtual assets and sensitive personal information.

Meanwhile, LEDGIS plans to additionally acquire information security management system of cloud services(ISO27017) and personal information security management system of cloud services(ISO27018) certificates this year in relation to IDH, a decentralized large-sized encrypted data storage/sharing solution applied to RealCollection.

If LEDGIS acquires these two additional certificates, it will be building the industry’s highest level of security system as a company that has all four types of ISO certificates. For reference, Upbit is the only virtual asset business operator in Korea that has obtained all four types of ISO.

This acquisition of ISO certificates is an important step in providing data security and reliability to LEDGIS blockchain ecosystem participants in managing and sharing their virtual assets and sensitive personal information. Based on the trust of the participants, LEDGIS will activate various DApp services such as NFT market RealCollection and DeFi service Lemonade, and further build an infrastructure that can lead the blockchain-based My Data market.
