The State of “Affairs:” Why Women Don’t Cheat Back

Why don’t women cheat back when they’re betrayed? There doesn’t seem to be too much of an eye for an eye attitude. Perhaps it’s a self esteem issue. Or it seems like a lot of work with all of our other responsibilities.

Women literally don’t have the time to “cheat back” on their adulterous husbands. Quite a State of Affairs!

I actually had to make up that phrase when I decided to raise this topic!

There is also the given fact that when this occurs, we are too wounded to plan retribution. If you’ve been married for decades, it’s not in your nature to start trolling for sex-only partners on the Internet. “Betrayed 50-something seeks age appropriate partner for meaningless roll in the hay.”

Never gonna happen. We are so out of it we are still using the term roll in the hay! Bless our sweet, shattered souls.

Throughout our married life, we had opportunities to go out for some no-holds-barred nookie, but we ignored the cute guy at the coffee shop’s simmering gaze. The flattery gave our egos a playful tap on the behind and we went home craving our husbands even more!

This isn’t to portray us as suffering saints but to point out the strength of our character. We choose not to be in a marriage whose motto is “a screw for a screw.” We’re better than that. And now that we’re free it need not be a consideration. It’s over. Time to get back to that coffee shop and perhaps give a new meaning to the term, “Double Latte!”

We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery. It doesn’t matter which side of 50 you are on. The real question is, Are you ready to live life? To forge a Path of Your Own Making (For a change!)? Then stop dwelling over the What-Might-Have-Beens and join me. Share your thoughts here, comment on mine, and let’s do this together!
