I Love Red
Will red ever be too red if everything else is red?
It’s amazing how complacency breeds within us. Crawls up and closes in without ourselves ever realizing it did. How many times were you caught off guard? Just today alone?
Its a fine balance, more lop-sided for some of us than others. Staying hungry, wanting more, breeding ravenous appetites, never satiable. Versus the point where we plateau out and start to flatline. Sometimes intentional, others not so much like creeping death.
I never learnt where to draw the line at both ends, it’s probably why I seem all over the place at some points and a couch potato next, parked in front of my laptop gaming instead of investing in other more productive interests. I am very extreme and maybe to my detriment. But it’s my way of staying passionate and curious. Always striving for something all the time although it might not seem like it, be it self-actualization or self-pleasure.
Even though it might not be evident that watching a movie or nailing outposts during raids could amount to anything. But to me it does. The important thing is to keep this passion alive. To me it’s both competitive and ideological. It all lies in having an idea what you hope to achieve while you’re at it, instead of adopting a “go-with-the-flow mentality”. It will help in whatever you do, if you know why you’re doing it. It will never be a waste of time.
If you lived in the arctic all the time, you wouldn’t know what warm or humid feels like. Pick a fight with your partners over nothing. Chump change quarrels. Listen to what they have to say, let them yell at you, yell back. And fall in love all over again. Always yell back. If we were happy all the time, we wouldn’t know we’re happy. Do something unusual to kill that complacency and find meaning in everything around you, just by thinking and doing different.
