Gasping for breath: America @ Death’s Door

It’s 2020, the year of the Presidential election. For 3 1/2 years, Americans have held their collective breath, waiting for their chance to go to the polls and vote: a chance to make a change.

Voting time, which gives every American the chance to change the leadership of the government, is now near. To vote, to change the government, to remove — finally, a man drenched in lies and drowning in deceit — is what Americans have been waiting for patiently.

And now, as that moment approaches, the chance may be slipping right through our fingers: the chance to make a change may prove as elusive as finding an honest word spoken at a Trump rally.

For the entire nation is now gripped by plague, a pandemic sweeping across the land, forcing folks to take shelter in their homes. The vote — American’s last and best hope to rid themselves of a corrupt president — is now hopelessly hanging by a chad. At the door of death is America’s great enterprise: the vote.

Lacking the will of political leadership, Americans may now be seeing the last vestiges of voting in this nation. Left to Republicans, election day — if it happens at all — will become a smattering of closed polls mixed with a dollop of social distancing, with the intention of stopping the desired change America so desperately wants and needs. With the GOP doing all it can across the nation to prevent that change, the outcome may result in four more years of Donald Trump directing America’s response to Covid19: the same man whose actions thus far have led directly to the deaths of thousands of Americans.

Without intervention — without the opportunity for change — Americans will continue to be forced to accept the Trump method of medicine: in other words, send people back to work at all costs. Trump has made clear his intention to crank up the economy again, and he has little to no concern for the health or well-being of any American worker. Trump is prepared to risk the lives of every American worker because he wants the economy going again-his primary argument for re-election. And Trump and the GOP are doing everything they can NOW to ensure that America continues to operate for the next four years under the Trump regime. At all costs.

America can not afford that price: how many Americans must die before this madman is removed from office? The people want their chance to make the change they desire, and Trump and his allies in the Senate, will pull out all the stops to deny US that chance, that right to vote.

America is at Death’s Door: voting for change on November 3rd is the key that unlocks that change, that new life, that breath of fresh air we all need.
