I’m not a particularly pious person, but I have read the Bible, and I do believe it contains a great many lessons for our lives. One story that many people are not familiar with is the story of Ananias and Sapphira from the Book of Acts.

The Book of Acts, if you don’t already know, tells the story of the Apostles shortly after the resurrection and ascension of Christ. Peter was chosen by Christ to be the leader of the group, and along with the others, began to form the new church. There is a great verse from Acts, Chapter 4, verse 32 that tells us what was happening:

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.

Acts 4:32

Hard to believe, right? All believers…shared everything they had? Wow!

Acts 4 continues to tell us about how God blessed them, providing for them in so many ways, never letting them go without. Verse 34 tells us that people would sell their houses and give the Apostles the money to continue the work they were…
