Everyone needs some help and positivity in their life. While help is very relative to the problem at hand, positivity can be appreciated by all, provided that you are open to it’s message.

We wanted to build something to spread some positivity in the world and so we created a site to collect positive Adages. Luckily a perfect domain was available to do just that.

Positive.help was created for people to contribute and share short positive messages. We built it with Gatsby and open sourced it. You can find the code on GitHub here.

You can submit new messages for the site in two different ways. The easiest is to fill out this form. The second is to submit a pull request on Github. We have some features we would like to add, that have been added to the repository as enhancement issues. One possible thing that would be interesting to add would be a way for people to register that the message has helped them. Perhaps a heart or something clickable. A “help counter” on every page. What do you think? What should we work on next?

Maybe nothing much will come of the site. At least it has helped us to work on it. We have had fun working on something new. Learning a React JavaScript static site generator project has been worth doing. Yes some of the messages could be considered corny or sappy, but I contest that the messages have not registered for you at the right time and place in your life. Given that it is a difficult time for everyone in the world right now and getting back to normal may take some time, it is our hope that site makes the world a bit better.

Help each other. We will get through this. It will get better.
