Do you know what your rights as a renter are, during the emergency and afterwards?

Our new Legal Help FAQ site has information for renters in all 50 US states, about what protections they have during COVID-19 and afterward. The site provides plain-language, straightforward answers to people’s questions about being evicted, going to court, paying rent, and getting assistance — especially as more people are facing the threat of eviction.

The FAQ site answers key questions that renters have in every state, like:

  1. Can I be evicted?
  2. What happens if I don’t pay my rent on time?
  3. Can my utilities be shut off?
  4. What should I do if my landlord gives me a notice to leave my home?
  5. Are courts still running during the COVID emergency?
  6. Who can help me cover bills or with legal help I need?

If you want to find the answers to these questions for your state, please find the right page to visit on eviction, rent, and emergency help. Also, if you have a website for a particular state or city about legal help, eviction, or renters — then please link back to the overall site or the specific page’s legal FAQs or assistance lists.
