TIRED OF SAMO©

SAMO© was a graffiti project by Al Diaz and Jean-Michel Basquiat, who collectively identified as SAMO© and used the tag to criticise society and art world.

“SAMO©,,, AS AN END TO THE 9 TO 5 “I WENT TO COLLEGE” “NOT 2-NITE HONEY”,,,BLUZ’,,,THINK,,,”

“SAMO©,,, AS AN ALTERNATIVE 2 ‘PLAYING ART’ WITH THE ‘RADICAL CHIC’ SECTION OF DADDY’$ FUNDS,,,”

It was a form of poetic vandalism. The original meaning was “the same old crap,” then shortened to “same old” and finally to “SAMO”.

Somehow we feel that it applies to the legal world. Are you not tired of the same old crap that law firms do?

Hierarchies, overbilling, unfair compensation. Making young people participate in a law firm rat race.

Fucking stop with the same old shit already!

The legal world needs a way to call-out toxic shit such as glass ceilings, sexism and glorifying burnouts from BigLaw Hunger Games.

Why do we have lawyers? What is the value that lawyers add to society? What is their JTBD?

It is ironical that those people that should be the guardians of the individual dignity and collective responsibility in our society, are so blind to the problems that they cause. They need a wake-up call.

Vandalise their (LinkedIn and Instagram) walls with SAMO when you see something that needs to be called out.

Maybe then they will start to notice.
